How to Limit Quantities of Hazardous Products using Q-value

Q-values can be assigned to a hazardous product to limit the Quantity of hazardous Products in one Container.

Here is a Hazmat Load of 4 Green and 9 Purple hazardous Products.

All 13 Hazard Products are loaded into one Container below.

However, if the Q-value sum of the 13 Green and Purple Hazard Products were to equals 3, then more containers will be necessary to accommodate the Q-value total.

Assign a Q-value to hazardous Products

To assign a Q-Value to a Product: 1) click the top left menu, 2) click Products, 3) navigate to a hazardous Product, 4) click Other data, 5) type a value between 0.0 and 1.0 in the Q-value field

Here is the Hazmat Load of 4 Green and 9 Purple Hazard Products after assigning 0.3 Q-value to Green Hazard Product and a Q-value of 0.2 to Purple Hazard Product.

Three Cartons are used above instead of one to keep the Q-value sum at 1 or lower for each carton used.
  1. Q-value calculations for the three Cartons above:
    1. first Carton has a Q-value sum of 1, calculation is: (0.3 * 2 green) + (0.2 * 2 purple) = 1.
    2. second Carton is the same as the first with Q-value of also 1.
    3. and the third Carton  has a Q-value of 1, calculation is: 0.2 * 5 purple = 1.
