How to Match Products with Containers

How to Match Products with Containers

Cube-IQ can control which Containers Products are loaded into

Matching codes can be assigned to Containers and Products to load Products into Containers where their Matching code is identical.

Here is a Sample Load where Products are loaded into a 20' Dry Cargo and/or a 20' Standard Reefer. The Blue and Yellow Products in this Sample Load must be kept in a refrigerated container, while the Green and Red Products must be loaded into a regular Container.

Here is the Sample Load Optimized without controlling which Container a Product is loaded into. The 1st Container is a regular 20' Dry Cargo container while the 2nd Container is the 20' Standard Reefer. There are 3 different Products in the Dry Cargo including Yellow products that must be refrigerated, and belongs in the the Standard Reefer.

The Standard Reefer has all 4 Products, but only Blue and Yellow Products need to be refrigerated.

Here is the Sample Load properly loaded where Blue and Yellow are refrigerated in the Standard Reefer after setting Matching codes.

Matching codes were assigned to the Standard Reefer and to the Blue and Yellow Products to control where Products are loaded above.

Use a Product's Matching code attribute to have them load into Containers with the same code

Products with a Matching code will only be loaded into Containers that also have the same Matching code.

The  Blue and Yellow Products in the Sample Load must be refrigerated; therefore, their Matching code will be set to  "Cold".

A Product can set their Matching Code attribute in Products Advanced area.

Set a Product's Matching code by: 1) click Products, 2) click Other data tab, and 3) type "Cold" under Advanced Area

The Blue Product's Matching code is set to "Cold" above.

The Yellow Product must also be set to "Cold".

The 20' Standard Reefer Container in the Sample Load must have the same Matching code of Products that need to be refrigerated.

Use a Container's Matching code attribute to have Products with the same code loaded into them

Containers have a Product matching area where their Matching codes can be set.

The 20' Standard Reefer in the Sample Load will use the "Cold" Matching code to load Products that also have the "Cold" Matching code.

Set the Container's Matching code by: 1) click Containers, 2) click Other data tab, and then 3) Type "Cold"

There is also a "Load this matching code only" box in the Product matching area of a Container above, leaving this box unchecked will allow Products without a code to be loaded into the Container.

Product must have the "Cold" Matching code before they can be loaded into this Container unless the "Load this matching code only" box is left unchecked while the Product's Match code is blank.

Use the Container's "Load this matching code only" checkbox if necessary

A Container can load Products without a Matching code while having a Matching Code if the "Load this matching code only" box is unchecked.

Here is the Sample Load Optimized after Blue Products and Yellow Products have the "Cold" Matching code set. The 20' Standard Reefer also has the "Cold" Match code, but its "Load this matching code only" box unchecked.

Only the 20' Standard Reefer Container is used because it is the better fit instead of the instead of the 20' Dry Cargo in this example. The 20' Standard Reefer meets the Matching code rule, and loads unrefrigerated Products because its "Load this matching code only" box is unchecked.

Check the "Load this matching code only" box in the 20' Standard Reefer's Product Matching area to also deny loading Products without a Match code.

Reoptimizing the Sample Load will now have Red and Green Products loaded in the 20' Dry Cargo, and only Blue and Yellow Refrigerated Products loaded in the 20' Standard Reefer.

Sample Load optimized after setting Matching codes for Products and Container with "Load this matching code only" turned on.

Here is the Sample Load where only refrigerated Blue and Yellow products must be loaded into the 20' Standard Reefer. The Red and Yellow Products can be loaded into the regular 20' Dry Cargo Container.

Here is the Sample Load Optimized.

  1. 20' Dry Cargo, Red Product, and Green Product have no Matching codes setup; therefore, Red and Green Products are loaded into the 20' Dry Cargo.
  2. 20' Standard Reefer have "Cold" Matching code assigned to it and "Load this matching code only" turned on; therefore, Red and Green are not loaded into the 20' Dry Cargo.
  3. Yellow and Blue Products also have "Cold" Matching code assigned to them; therefore, Yellow and Blue Products are loaded into the 20' Standard Reefer.

Notes:

Containers and Products can have multiple Match codes

Use the tilde "~" to separate Match codes when a Container or Product must have more than one Match code.
A Container with multiple Match codes can load a Product with multiple Match codes if the Container and Product both share a code.
