How to password protect Product and Container data access while having full access to Loads

A database can be protected to prevent adding or updating Products and Containers while allowing full access to Loads.

Here is a snippet of Cube-IQ's top menu where navigation to all menus in the software including Data access to Products, Containers, and Settings is allowed by default.

There are 8 available menus by default: 1) Load Setup, 2) Load Plan, 3) Load Edit, 4) Load Overview, 5) Products, 6) Container, 7) Settings, and 8) Options

Data access to Products, Containers, and Settings can be removed from Cube-IQ sessions when only full access to Loads is necessary.

Protect the Database to prevent Data access to Products and Containers using the "Data access password" options feature.

The "Data access password" feature is enabled by: 1) click Options menu, 2) select the General tab, 3) type a password in the "Data access password" field under Various options area, and then 4) restart Cube-IQ

Here is a snippet after "Data access password" is applied and Cube-IQ is restarted. Instead of 8 menu items, only 5 menus items are now available. Data access to Products, Containers, and Settings are  no longer available.

Loads can still be created, modified, deleted, and previewed when "Data access password" is applied. Options menu is also still available.

Use the "Data Password" button to temporarily unlock and restore data access to current session.

Unlock using the "Data Password" by: 1) click top left menu beside Load Setup, 2) click "Data Password button in left panel, and 3) enter the password in the "Enter Password for Data Access" dialog window and click OK

Products, Containers, and Settings menu are now temporarily unlocked after password above is entered, and full Data access is temporarily restored. Temporarily unlocked means Cube-IQ Data access will be restricted once Cube-IQ is restarted.

Remove the "Data access password" feature to permanently unprotect Product and Container Data again.

Data must be temporarily unlocked before "Data access password" can be removed, click here to see how.

Delete the "Data access password" by: 1) click Options menu, 2) select General tab, and 3) delete password in "Data access password" field

Access to Products, Containers, and Settings menu will continue to be available after restarting Cube-IQ when password is deleted from the Data access password field above.

Notes:

Data access password cannot be recovered if forgotten.

Make sure Data access password is saved in secure location. It cannot be recovered if forgotten.

Contact support@magiclogic.com if you are locked out from Accessing Data.
