Load Setup is a critical starting point in Cube-IQ that allows users to define the parameters necessary to create optimized load plans.
Accessing the Load Setup
Load Setup is the default view displayed upon logging into Cube-IQ. Upon launching the application, the Load Setup screen opens automatically, providing access to configure new loads or modify existing ones.
Prerequisites
Before starting the Load Setup process in Cube-IQ, ensure the following prerequisites are met to streamline configuration and optimize results:
Product Details
- Dimensions and weight of each item.
- Stacking preferences and handling requirements.
- Special conditions for sensitive items.
Container Specifications
- Stacking and orientation rules for items (e.g., upright, flat, or rotated).
- Grouping or zoning requirements, such as separating hazardous materials or temperature-controlled goods.
- Load sequencing for priority items.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Click the New Load button, or navigate to Loads > New Load within the left menu.
- Enter a unique name or ID for the Load (up to 64 characters).
- Add container(s) to the Container List in the Load Setup window.
- Set fields such as container dimensions, quantity, and any specific constraints.
- Add products to the Load List, specifying quantities and any additional parameters.
- Click the Optimize button to calculate the optimal load configuration.
- Review the Load Plan displayed at the bottom of the Load Setup screen.
- Print the Load Plan and Manifest using the options in the top menu.
Best Practices
- Ensure all product and container data is accurate before optimization.
- Use the 2D Load Edit feature for specialized loading scenarios, such as lumber.
- Avoid interrupting the optimization process unless necessary.
