The Loading process in Cube-IQ involves creating a configured load, optimizing the placement of products, reviewing the load plan, and making adjustments as needed.
See Load Setup for information on configuring a new load. See Load Plan for more about reviewing a load's graphical representation.
Accessing the Loading Process
Load Setup is the default view displayed upon logging into Cube-IQ. Upon launching the application, the Load Setup screen opens automatically, providing access to configure new loads or modify existing ones.
Executing a Load
Optimizing a Load
After configuring the load, Cube-IQ runs an optimization algorithm to arrange products within containers.
- Click the Optimize button.
- A progress dialog displays the optimization status.
- If needed, click Interrupt to stop the process and retain the best-calculated load.
For details on configuring optimization settings, see Load Setup.
Reviewing Load Results
After optimization, Cube-IQ provides multiple ways to review load results:
- Load Overview Tab: Displays a summary of loaded containers.
- Load Plan: Provides a 3D graphical view of the load layout (see Load Plan for details).
- Load Details Window: Displays weight distribution, load dimensions, and other key metrics.
Adjusting a Load
Modifications can be made to refine load distribution.
Fixing Partial Loads
If part of a load needs to remain unchanged while re-optimizing:
- Open the Load Details window.
- Use the Modify button to fix specific products.
- Make changes and click Re-Optimize to adjust the remaining portion of the load.
Manually Editing a Load Plan
- Select Load Edit fro the Main Menu.
- Drag and drop products to modify placement.
- Save changes before exiting.
Advanced Load Features
Multi-Stage Loading
Cube-IQ supports multi-stage loading, such as loading boxes onto pallets before placing pallets into a container.
- Set up an initial load for the smallest items into their respective containers.
- Ensure Outside Dimensions are set in Container Details.
- Once Stage 1 is completed, Cube-IQ automatically converts loaded containers into Stage 2 products for the next stage.
Handling Axle Weights and Center of Gravity
- Use the Axle Weights tab in Container Details to define axle weight limits.
- Check the Load Details window to view weight distribution percentages.
- Adjust Center of Gravity parameters in Load Setup for balance control.
