Overview
You can create unusable spaces in Cube-IQ.
Unusable spaces can be added to containers to prevent products from being loaded in that region. Unusable spaces are used for benders or obstacles, with refrigerating units being a common application of unusable spaces. This article will guide you through the process of creating an unusable space within a container, and explain some of the settings to best suit your loading needs.
Requirements
You must have any currently supported version of Cube-IQ installed on your computer with a valid license, or be logged in to Cube-IQ Web.
Procedure
Not usable height at top
If you have a specific height that must be left empty at the top of the container, you can make use of this setting instead of creating a custom unusable space.
From the Main Window controls, click on:
- The Containers page
- Navigate to the Unusable Spaces tab
-
Not usable height at top: Enter in the height of the region to be left at the top in this field.
- Re-optimize your loads to see this change take effect.
- Here is what the load would look like without the 40cm unusable region at the top:
- As you can see, there is 40 cm left from the top of the container in this sample load.
