Overview
You can use Telnet to check the status of your BlackBox service to verify that is it up and running along with if it is registered.
Requirements
- Any supported version of BlackBox software, installed as a Windows Service on a network-available machine.
- Telnet client and server software installed on the computer where the BlackBox service is running.
Procedure
- Open a command prompt on the machine where your BlackBox service is running.

Type
telnet127.0.0.1<port>where<port>is the port number your BlackBox service is listening on.
- This will open a Telnet session with the local server.

Type
statusand pressEnter(you may not see the characters appear on the screen). - In response, you should receive the status information of the BlackBox as shown below.
- To close the Telnet session, press
Ctrl + ]and typequit.
